「逆説の10カ条」

The Paradoxical Commandments

1.People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.

2.If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway.

3.If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.

4.The good you do today, will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

5.Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.

6.The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.

7.People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
 
8.What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.

9.People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help people anyway.

10.Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.

「逆説の10カ条」

1.人は論理的でも合理的でもなく、利己的なものです。だとしても、人を愛しなさい。

2.良いことをすれば、人はあなたに隠された利己的な動機があると思い、あなたを責めるでしょう。だとしても、良いことをしなさい。

3.成功すれば、偽りの友と真の敵を得るでしょう。だとしても、成功しなさい。

4.今日良いことをしても、明日には忘れ去られるでしょう。だとしても、良いことをしなさい。

5.誠実かつ率直であろうとすれば、そのために迫害されるでしょう。だとしても、誠実かつ率直でありなさい。

6.最大の思想をもった最大の男女でも、最小の料簡の最小の男女に打ち落とされるかもしれません。だとしても、大きく考えなさい。

7.人は弱者に同情することはあっても、強者にしかついていかないものです。だとしても、弱者のために戦いなさい。

8.築きあげるのに何年もかかるものでも、一晩のうちに崩れ去ることもあります。だとしても、築きあげなさい。

9.本当に助けを必要としている人がいるのに、あなたが助けようとすれば非難する人もまたいるかもしれません。だとしても、人を助けなさい。

10.世に対して最善を尽くしても、その見返りに得るのはひどい仕打ちでしょう。だとしても、世に対して最善を尽くしなさい。
